YOGIC BEDTIME MILK RECIPE
My children fight sleep, and in keeping with the natural rhythms of life we have identified rituals and routines to always be key for an easier transition to sleep. One of our favorites is my bedtime “tea”. Crafted out of total frustration one evening, and it worked! The herbs in this recipe combine to create an appealing flavor while having a relaxing impact to the spirit and body systems for all ages.
I recommend serving this warm but not too hot.
2 Cups of Milk
6 Cardamom Pods, cracked
3 TSP Honey
1 TSP Lavender
1 Star Anise
2 TSP Vanilla Extract
Pinch of Cinnamon
Place pot on stove. Place contents in pot. Stir occasionally. Bring milk to a point where it is just starting to show signs of boiling and remove from heat.
Allow infusion to sit for 7-10 minutes.
Strain and serve.
Always check temperature before giving to children. Not for children under 1 year old.
